One or more open elements can be extended until they intersect with the nearest element in the active window. The extension direction is determined by the position where you select the element to extend. For example, if you select a horizontal line to the right of its midpoint, the line extends to the right. If there is no possible intersection between the element you want to extend and any other element in the view, the command does not extend the element.
In this lesson, you will modify the Parking.ingr file using the Extend to Next button.
Click the Show Me
button on the SmartSketch Learning Center toolbar to view a demonstration
of the tasks in this lesson.
Note
This highlights the line and previews the line extending to the left.
Tip
You can also use Extend To Next to extend multiple elements in one operation. To do so, click and drag the cursor over the elements to be extended.
Notice that relationship handles appear at the ends of each green line.
Important
If you must exit the Learning Center prior to completing all the lessons in this tutorial, save the Parking.ingr drawing file under a different name.
