The following lesson highlights the workflow for creating a network diagram. The first step in creating an office layout is to create a new document based on a General Diagramming template.

Click the Show Me Show Me  button on the SmartSketch Learning Center toolbar to view a demonstration of the tasks in this lesson.

  1. On the File menu, click New
  2. Expand the General Diagramming folder, and select the Office Layout (Imperial).igr template. 

Tip

  1. Click OK to create the document.

Once the template opens, notice that the Symbol Explorer displays directories and subdirectories of delivered Office Layout symbols.

Tips

  1. On the Main toolbar, click the Zoom In command. 
  2. Click once in the middle of the drawing sheet.
  3. On the Main toolbar, click the Place Doubleline command.

Tip

  1. Draw a rectangular room approximately 12' by 9'.
  2. On the Main toolbar, click the Zoom Area zoomarea.gif (973 bytes) command.
  3. Click just above the upper left corner of the rectangle and drag down to the bottom right of the rectangle to draw a fence around the room.
