In this lesson, you will use the Symbol Explorer to place SmartLabels in the network diagram.
Click the Show Me
button on the SmartSketch Learning Center toolbar to view a demonstration of the tasks discussed in this lesson.
Repeat step 2 to label the other CAT-5 cables in the diagram. When finished, your network diagram should resemble the following illustration:

Tip
To place multiple copies of a symbol, press the Ctrl key when you select the symbol in the Symbol Explorer. Continue pressing the Ctrl key while placing the first instance of the symbol. Once you have placed the first symbol, you can release the Ctrl key and left-click to place multiple copies of the symbol.
To rotate a label 90°, press the left- or right-arrow key on the keyboard before dropping the symbol into its location.
Important
To
label network equipment symbols (except for Cable symbols which are dragged as connectors),
you must drop the label on the lower-left corner point
.
Tip
You can also use the Stamp Here command to place multiple copies of a symbol. Right-click and drag the symbol into the template. When you release the button to place the symbol, a shortcut menu appears. Select Stamp Here, and then left-click to place multiple copies of the symbol.
