The following lesson highlights the workflow for creating a network diagram. You can find the resulting Network Diagram file in the Samples directory on the SmartSketch CD. You can access the file directly from the CD at this path: \SmartSketch\Samples\FG_DiagrammingSamples\General Diagramming\Network Diagram.igr.
The first step in creating a network diagram is to create a new document based on a General Diagramming template.
Click the Show Me
button on the SmartSketch Learning Center toolbar to view a
demonstration of the tasks in this lesson.
Tip
Once the template opens, notice that the Symbol Explorer displays directories and subdirectories of delivered Networking Diagramming symbols.
Note
The Symbol Explorer provides a simple user interface to drag symbols from a directory to the current document.
Tips
If you don't see the Symbol Explorer, click the Symbol Explorer
button on the main toolbar.
Double-click the bar at the top of the Symbol Explorer to display it as a separate window. You can now drag the Symbol Explorer to relocate it or resize it.
The Symbol Explorer can be docked either on the left- or right-side of the SmartSketch window.
