Rotate Elements
The Rotate command rotates one or more elements a precise distance or
angle about a specified point. When using the Rotate command you must
define both the center of rotation and the point from which to rotate.
In this lesson, you will use the Rotate command on the Change
toolbar to rotate the rectangle you drew previously 45°
from its current location.
Click the Show Me
button on the SmartSketch Learning Center toolbar to view a demonstration of
how to perform the tasks in this lesson.
- On the Draw toolbar, click the Select Tool
and select the rectangle.
- On the Main toolbar, click the Change
button to
display the Change toolbar.
- On the Change toolbar, click the Rotate
button.
- Click the center of the rectangle to define the center of rotation.
Important
- Use the alignment indicators to locate the midpoints of the vertical and horizontal line of the rectangle.
- Move the mouse cursor to the right and select the midpoint of the vertical element to define the other end of the
reference axis.
Note
- SmartSketch dynamically displays the rotation axis and elements being
rotated. The location and position of the reference axis defines the
rotation from point.
- Rotate the rectangle approximately 45° from its current location.
Tip
- The rotation angle displays in the Rotation Angle box on the Rotation
ribbon bar.
- On the Change toolbar, click the Move/Copy
button.
- Click the midpoint of the line on the rectangle that faces the desk.
- Move the mouse cursor over each end point of the 45° line on the desk. When the alignment indicators from both ends of the line meet,
