An attribute is a user-defined property or parameter assigned to an element, object, or document. Attributes can include such items as the manufacturer, price, and other data.

User-defined properties are attributes that define a characteristic about the object or element and are usually in the form of a text notation, such as cost or location. You can change the user-defined properties without affecting the appearance of the element or object.

A parameter is an attribute assigned to an object or element, usually a numerical value representing a dimension. Changing a parameter of an object or element will usually impact its appearance.
