You can use the Place Doubleline command to draw doublelines. Corners are cleaned as you place the line; the command also miters joints and trims as you draw. The Place Doubleline command is very useful in drawing an architectural floor plan for a house or a factory.

In this lesson, you will use the Place Doubleline command to draw an outline for a floorplan. 

Click the Show Me Show Me  button on the SmartSketch Learning Center toolbar to view a demonstration of how to perform the tasks in this lesson.

  1. On the Draw toolbar, click the Doubleline Doubleline Button button. 

Tip

  1. In the bottom left of the box, click to place the first point of the doubleline.
  2. On the ribbon bar in the Length box, type 11' and press the Enter key.
  3. Move the mouse cursor horizontally to the left of the first point.
  4. When the horizontal relationship indicator ( Horizontal Relationship Indicator ) appears next to the mouse cursor, click to place the line.  
  5. At the end point of the line that you just drew, move the mouse cursor to start a new line.
  6. Draw a vertical line 12' long, click to place the line.
  7. Move the mouse cursor horizontally to the right of the line you just placed and draw a horizontal line 24' long. Click to place the line.
  8. Move the mouse cursor over the bottom right of the box that was first created. Next, move the mouse cursor to the right until it is vertical. When the horizontal alignment indicator appears, click to place the line.

Tip

  1. Move the mouse cursor horizontally to the left of the line you just placed to the lower right corner of the box. When the end point relationship indicator End Point appears, click to place the line. 
  2. On the ribbon bar, click the Center Primary Line Center Primary Line Button button. 
  3. Move the mouse cursor to the top center of the 2' box. When the midpoint relationship indicator Mid Point appears, click to place the line. 
  4. Draw a vertical line from the top of the box that meets the first horizontal doubleline.
